Freddie Mercury lyric notebook sells for £277,000 at London auction

A notebook containing handwritten lyrics by Freddie Mercury sold for £277,000 during the 'Music Live Auction' hosted by Propstore in London. The lyrics date back to the 1985 recordings for his first solo album, 'Mr. Bad Guy'.

The notebook was part of a collection belonging to German producer and engineer Reinhold Mack, who is well known for his work at Munich's Musicland Studios and his long-term collaboration with the band Queen. The auction featured over 80 items from Mack's archive, documenting his professional and personal relationship with Mercury.

Other notable sales at the auction included Noel Gallagher's Takamine FP460SC acoustic guitar, which sold for £226,800, and a Yamaha C3 piano used by various artists, including Queen and Elton John, which fetched £81,900.
