Freddie Slater wins FIA Formula 3 feature race at Hungaroring
Freddie Slater, driving for Trident, claimed his first FIA Formula 3 victory in the feature race at the Hungaroring in Hungary. He fended off a late attack from Campos Racing’s Ugo Ugochukwu, who finished second, while Brando Badoer took third place for Rodin Motorsport.
The win moved Slater to the top of the championship standings, overtaking the series leader. The race saw several incidents, including contact between Slater and pole‑sitter Tuukka Taponen early on, and a clash involving Theóphile Nael and Ugochukwu later in the event. The Hungarian round was the seventh of the season, with the series heading into a summer break before resuming in September at Monza.
Other notable finishers included Mattia Colnaghi (fourth) and Theóphile Nael (fifth). Fernando Barrichello, who had scored his first points in the sprint race, retired after a suspension damage incident.
