Freddie Slater wins Formula 3 race, Gabriele Mini claims Formula 2 sprint at Hungarian Grand Prix

British Audi Formula 1 junior Freddie Slater earned his first Formula 3 victory in the Feature Race at the Hungarian Grand Prix, taking the lead from pole‑sitter Tuukka Taponen after a contact‑induced pit stop. Slater managed tyre degradation and multiple safety‑car and VSC periods, pulling away on the final restart to secure the win and extend his championship lead to 130 points with two rounds remaining.

In the Formula 2 sprint race, Alpine Academy driver Gabriele Mini recovered from a chaotic start in which race leader Nikola Tsolov mis‑judged a dive‑bomb at turn one, colliding with Sebastian Montoya and forfeiting a podium. Mini capitalised on the incident, overtaking the field, setting the fastest lap and winning the race, narrowing the gap to Tsolov to 20 points in the title fight.
