Frederick Lau opens vegan döner shop in Berlin
German actor Frederick Lau and his wife, moderator Annika Lau, have opened a vegan döner shop in the Berlin-Kreuzberg district, located near the SO36 club. The couple stated that the project is motivated by animal welfare concerns and a desire to encourage people to consider alternatives to meat consumption.
This venture follows previous attempts by celebrities to enter the Berlin döner market, such as former football player Lukas Podolski, whose establishment closed after a few months. Despite the rise in vegan options in German pedestrian zones, data from the Federal Center for Agriculture indicates that meat consumption has recently increased by 1.4 kilograms, reaching an average of 54.9 kilograms per person annually.
