Frederik Berner Kühl awarded 2026 Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize

Danish menswear designer Frederik Berner Kühl was announced as the winner of the 2026 Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize during Copenhagen Fashion Week. The award, presented by the Wessel & Vett Foundation at a ceremony in the Orangeriet, includes a €40,000 cash prize and a bespoke artwork created by Copenhagen‑based artist Esben Weile Kjær.

The jury highlighted Kühl’s confidence, exceptional craftsmanship and long‑term vision, noting his ability to combine Scandinavian simplicity with traditional tailoring. Founder Nina Wedell‑Wedellsborg praised the clarity of his design language and his commitment to quality and longevity. Kühl said the prize will help his small brand grow without compromising its values.

Four other Danish labels – Bonnetje, Caro Editions and O. Files – were finalists and each received a €10,000 participation grant along with mentoring and industry support.
