Frederikos I. Phitam holds solo art exhibition in Rethymno

Artist Frederikos I. Phitam is holding his 14th solo painting exhibition, titled ‘Light and Water,’ at the House of Culture in Rethymno from August 6 to August 23. Held under the auspices of the Municipality of Rethymno, the exhibition features 25 oil paintings, 19 watercolors, and 9 etchings.

A central piece of the collection is ‘Homage to Hokusai,’ which engages in a contemporary artistic dialogue with the iconic ‘Great Wave’ by the Japanese master. The artist’s work explores the relationship between light, water, and landscape, a theme rooted in his professional background spanning studies in England to his current creative life in Crete.
