Fredrik Midtsjö announces retirement from professional football

Norwegian midfielder Fredrik Midtsjö has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33. The decision follows a two-year absence from the pitch due to persistent injury issues.

In a social media statement, Midtsjö explained that despite intensive efforts toward rehabilitation and recovery, his body did not respond as expected. He noted that while the conclusion of his career was not the ideal ending he had envisioned, he remains proud of his professional journey and grateful for the opportunities he had.

Midtsjö had a notable career in Turkey, beginning with Galatasaray, where he played 28 matches and was part of a championship-winning squad. He later played 27 matches for Pendikspor and most recently appeared in 9 matches for Eyüpspor before his injury sidelined him.
