Fredy Avila Gomez indicted for voter fraud and theft of government funds

Fredy Avila Gomez has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Boise, Idaho, on multiple charges including voter fraud, wire fraud, and the theft of government funds. According to court records, Gomez allegedly engaged in a scheme to defraud various agencies, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, between 2017 and 2026.

In addition to financial crimes, Gomez is charged with making false statements to obtain a passport, producing fraudulent identification documents, and making false statements during a firearm purchase. He also faces charges for unlawful possession of a firearm and making false claims of U.S. citizenship to vote in elections. Gomez faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
