Free 90s concert at Zagreb's HNK and medieval fair in Pag kick off Croatia's summer festivals

On Saturday, 4 July 2026, the open‑air stage in front of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb will host a free‑entry concert celebrating the music of the 1990s. Organized with the theatre, Jutarnji list and the Zagreb Tourist Board, the event will mark the close of the theatre’s 165th season with a lineup of nearly forty hits from the decade, featuring performers from the theatre’s drama, opera and ballet ensembles under the musical direction of Ante Gele.

Meanwhile, the historic town of Pag will host its ninth medieval fair on 4‑5 July 2026. The two‑day free event will recreate the 1192 Battle of Pag and showcase medieval crafts, combat displays, archery, falconry, and workshops on traditional skills such as blacksmithing and lace making. Visitors can also enjoy period food, children’s games and free shuttle transport between the rowing club and the old town. Both events aim to attract locals and tourists, highlighting Croatia’s cultural heritage this summer.
