Free 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' adaptation opens at CCBB Brasília

A new production of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will run at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil in Brasília from July 30 to August 2, with free admission at 19:30 each night. An extra matinee on August 1 includes sign‑language interpretation and audio description, followed by a post‑show discussion with the director and cast.

Directed by Adriano Guimarães, the adaptation blends contemporary staging with the original poetic text. The cast features Abaetê Queiroz, Gabriela Correa, Lucas Lima and others. Guimarães said, “Shakespeare wrote for a practically empty stage… the imagination of the audience remains one of theatre’s greatest powers.”
