Free bus shuttles between Hettange-Grande and Frisange cease operation
The Communauté de communes de Cattenom et Environs (CCCE) and TEMO Moselle Nord launched a free cross‑border bus shuttle on 16 July to replace disrupted rail services between Thionville and Luxembourg. The service linked Hettange‑Grande in France with the P+R at Frisange in Luxembourg, serving residents of Boust, Breistroff‑la‑Grande, Rodemack and Basse‑Rentgen. Journeys took 24 minutes in smooth traffic and up to 39 minutes at peak times.
After ten days the shuttle saw limited and declining ridership. Citing low usage, the operators announced the service would end, with the final trips running on 31 July. Commuters can still use the substitution coaches deployed by CFL or the existing cross‑border RGTR lines, accessible to FLUO subscription holders.
