Free concert in Victoria, Canada draws tens of thousands

A free outdoor concert celebrating the David Foster Foundation’s 40th anniversary is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. The event will use a converted construction barge, the 180‑foot vessel Straits 153, as a floating stage and feature performers such as David Foster, Josh Groban, Katharine McPhee, CeeLo Green and The Tenors.

The Greater Victoria Harbour Authority is overseeing the barge conversion, while Victoria Police (VicPD) has announced temporary road closures on Belleville, Government and Menzies streets and will deploy special duty officers, cameras and drones to monitor the crowd. The three‑hour show runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., ending with a drone‑light and fireworks finale.
