Free Congenital Heart Screening Program Launched in Vietnam's Khanh Hoa Province
The "Trái tim cho em" (Heart for Me) initiative, in partnership with Viettel Khanh Hoa, the University Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa General Hospital, will conduct free congenital heart disease screenings for children under 18 in Khanh Hoa Province. The two‑day campaign runs on 25‑26 July 2026 at Khanh Hoa General Hospital, offering examinations to all local children and those from nearby areas who show symptoms such as persistent cough, rapid breathing, cyanosis, poor feeding, or abnormal chest movements.
Children diagnosed with heart defects and coming from low‑income families will be eligible for financial assistance to cover surgical costs through the program. Donations can be made directly to the Quỹ Tấm lòng Việt fund or via bank transfer to the specified account. The effort aims to improve early detection and treatment of congenital heart disease among vulnerable children in the region.
