Free Geek Conventions Sweep Argentine Cities

Geek Fest Corrientes Tecnocomic Vicente López free pop culture convention cosplay contests K‑pop events

The city of Corrientes, Argentina, will hold its inaugural Geek Fest on Sunday, August 26 at Club El Tala. The free, family‑friendly event runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and includes a main stage with live shows, K‑pop performances, cosplay contests for kids and adults, gaming zones, workshops, and a concert by the band Re‑Man.

A week later, Vicente López will host Tecnocomic on Saturday, August 1 at Club Unión de Munro. Also free and open to the public, the day‑long gathering features cosplay competitions with a 250,000‑peso prize pool, live gaming, Beyblade tournaments, music by THM Videogame Band, and additional K‑pop, film and technology activities.

Both conventions aim to bring together the local geek community, offering entertainment, artistic showcases and interactive experiences for families and fans of pop‑culture, comics, anime, video games and related media.
