Free increases reimbursement for new subscribers and reorganizes TV channels

French telecommunications provider Free has announced two major updates for its customers. First, the company has increased its reimbursement offer for users switching from other internet service providers. Free will now reimburse up to 151 € of cancellation fees, which, when combined with a potential 49 € activation fee credit, brings the total benefit to up to 200 €. This increase from the previous 100 € limit is intended to assist customers who are still under contract with competitors like Orange, SFR, or Bouygues Telecom.

Additionally, Free is implementing a significant reorganization of its television service. Starting August 25, 2026, nearly 700 channels on Free TV and Freebox TV will change their channel numbers. This restructuring aims to simplify navigation by grouping channels into thematic categories, such as sports, cinema, and news. While the channel numbers will change, no channels will be removed from the service. The update will occur automatically, though it may take up to 48 hours to complete.
