Free Music Events in Oosterhout and Waalwijk Attract Local Audiences

On Saturday 1 August, organist and city carillonneur Jan‑Sjoerd van der Vaart gave a free concert at the Basiliek Sint‑Jan in Oosterhout. The performance, part of a summer series organized by Stichting Ludens and city organist Jan Willems, featured a mix of classical organ works by Vierne, Bach, Sweelinck and others.

A week later, on Saturday 22 August, the annual Platen‑ en CD‑markt returned to the Raadhuisplein in Waalwijk. The free‑entry market hosted dozens of domestic and international vendors offering a wide range of vinyl records, CDs and singles across genres such as blues, jazz, rock and pop. Visitors could browse, purchase and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, with nearby cafés providing refreshments.
