Free Outdoor Cinema Events Draw Thousands in Brazil and Portugal
In Uberaba, Brazil, the second stop of the 10th edition of Cine Família na Praça attracted more than 1,500 attendees. The open‑air screening featured the Looney Tunes movie and several short films, with large screen, high‑definition sound, free popcorn and accessible facilities. Project coordinator Marcelo Mamede highlighted the event’s goal of democratizing audiovisual access for families.
In Portugal, the sequel "The Devil Wears Prada 2" will be shown for free in multiple cities from July through September as part of the Cinema na Praça Continente tour. Each venue offers 500 seated places, free admission, popcorn and a food‑truck service. The tour will visit locations such as Leiria, Cantanhede, Vila Nova de Famalicão and end in Lisbon on 26 September.
