Free provides guidance on Freebox OS and Free TV access
Users of Free services can distinguish between the Free subscriber space and the Freebox OS interface to avoid login errors. The subscriber space on free.fr is used for administrative tasks such as managing invoices, personal information, and subscription changes. In contrast, the Freebox OS interface, accessible via mafreebox.freebox.fr, is used for local network configuration, including Wi-Fi settings and IP address management.
Authentication for Freebox OS is separate from subscriber credentials. Access requires a password created through a physical validation process on the Freebox Server hardware. If the password is forgotten, a reset must be performed via a specific URL that triggers another physical validation on the device.
Additionally, Free TV users who hold both a Freebox subscription and a linked Free Mobile plan must use their Freebox credentials to log in. When a mobile account is associated with a Freebox, the platform prompts users to connect via their fixed-line account to ensure they receive the full range of channels and features included in their specific bundle.
