Freedom Fuel Network supplier sues over $4 million in unpaid gas
Mansfield Oil Company has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against KRSM Inc. and its president, Syed Kazmi. The complaint alleges that KRSM obtained more than 1.1 million gallons of fuel, valued at approximately $4 million, between May and July without providing payment.
The lawsuit suggests that the unpaid fuel may explain how the Freedom Fuel Network, a discount gas station chain promoted by Donald Trump, was able to offer prices significantly lower than market competitors. While the White House previously attributed the low prices to the company’s willingness to accept lower margins, the lawsuit alleges the discounts were facilitated by the use of unpaid fuel.
KRSM has denied the allegations, characterizing the legal action as an “accounting dispute over fuel invoices misplaced by Mansfield Oil.” The company maintains that the issue stems from mispriced invoices rather than theft. Despite the legal challenges and reports of unpaid environmental violations, the Freedom Fuel Network has continued to expand, growing from 17 to 29 locations by late August.
