FREELANDER brand names Duan Yihong ambassador; Shenxing 8 to launch Sept 3

The FREELANDER brand, a joint venture between Chery and Jaguar Land Rover, has announced that actor Duan Yihong will serve as its brand ambassador. The brand is scheduled to officially launch its first model, the Shenxing 8, on September 3.

The Shenxing 8 is a luxury technology all-terrain SUV that has already entered the pre-sale phase. The vehicle features an 800V high-voltage range-extended platform and is equipped with a 60.3kWh battery, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 310km. Performance specifications include dual-motor four-wheel drive with a total power of 610kW, 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.6 seconds, and a wheel-end torque of 8000N·m.

Technologically, the vehicle integrates systems from Huawei, CATL, and Qualcomm, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8397 automotive-grade chip and Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving assistance. The interior offers various configurations, including five-seat and six-seat layouts, with high-end amenities such as Harman Kardon headrest speakers and zero-gravity seats. Pre-sale prices range from 329,900 to 409,900 yuan.
