Brazil celebrates National Mason Day with honors and calls for social commitment

August 20 marks the National Mason Day in Brazil, a date commemorating the Order's role in the country's political emancipation in 1822.

In Marabá, the Municipal Chamber held a solemn session to honor the contributions of Freemasonry to local society, specifically highlighting its work in fraternity, solidarity, ethics, and citizenship. During the ceremony, five members were awarded the Legislative ‘Honra ao Mérito’ title for their services.

Nationally, the Masonic Confederation of Brazil (COMAB) issued an institutional message through Secretary-General Cassiano Lhopes Moreno. The message called for members to practice daily self-improvement and ethical leadership, emphasizing that the Order's greatest contribution to society lies in concrete actions and social responsibility amidst contemporary global uncertainties.
