Freiburg to host public palliative care program in 2026

The city of Freiburg will host a public event program from September 15 to September 30, 2026, centered around the 16th Palliative Congress organized by the German Society for Palliative Medicine. The program aims to bring discussions regarding dying, death, and grief from professional medical circles into the local community.

Scheduled activities include a citizens' forum titled "How do I want to die?", workshops on first aid, and creative sessions such as coffin building. Other offerings include hospice tours, poetry slams, and musical reflections at the Freiburg Minster.
