Freixo de Espada à Cinta wildfire sees 150 firefighters and aerial support

A wildfire broke out in a brush area of Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Bragança district, Portugal. The fire, which had two active fronts, was fought by more than 150 operatives using 45 ground vehicles, eight aerial units and a fire‑raking machine. Wind conditions complicated the effort, and the commander warned that the night would require continued vigilance.

Authorities reported that no residential zones or roads were threatened, and the blaze was beginning to give way to the deployed resources. The firefighting operation will remain on site through the night and into the next morning as conditions permit.
