Fremantle Dockers lock up star midfielder Murphy Reid until 2032

Fremantle Dockers midfielder Murphy Reid has agreed to a new contract that extends his stay at the club through the 2032 AFL season. The deal adds three years to his existing agreement, which was due to run until the end of 2029, and secures the 19‑year‑old Victorian forward for the foreseeable future.

Reid, the 2023 Telstra AFL Rising Star and the youngest ever winner of the Glendinning‑Allan Medal, has played 43 consecutive games since his debut, kicking 37 goals and emerging as a potential All‑Australian this year. The extension also prevents the expansion Tasmania side from targeting him, while aligning him with several other Dockers who have signed long‑term deals.

Club boss David Walls praised Reid’s on‑field development and his growing connections within the team, describing the contract as a major boost for Fremantle’s premiership ambitions.
