French Actress Elsa Esnoult Says Son Eden’s Name Honors Her Late Dog

Elsa Esnoult, the French actress and singer, welcomed her first child on 26 September 2025. She named the baby boy Eden, a name she had previously given to her Yorkshire terrier, also called Eden, who lived with her for more than thirteen years.

In a YouTube interview with the channel Noé‑Noé Le Média, Esnoult explained that the name “Eden” represents “paradise” for her – both the dog and now her son. She said the dog had been a source of comfort during a difficult period, calling the animal “my paradise,” and wanted the same sentiment for her child. She also mentioned her partner Alexis Jacquemin, the father of Eden.

The actress stressed that the choice might surprise people, but for her it goes beyond a simple name and reflects a personal story of love and gratitude.
