French agribusiness d’aucy and Valsoleil‑Sanders expand local food and feed production

The French cooperative brand d’aucy announced a new supply chain for red beans sourced from farms in Brittany and the Centre‑Val de Loire region. Launched in 2024, the project aims to replace imports from southwestern France, Vendée and North America and achieve 100 % domestic self‑sufficiency for its annual red‑bean volume, with plans to extend the model to other legumes. The initiative is presented as a step toward greater food sovereignty, climate‑resilient farming and consumer transparency through the Origin’Info labelling scheme.

In parallel, the cooperative group Valsoleil and Sanders, a subsidiary of Avril, entered negotiations to deepen their partnership at the Crest industrial site in the Drôme department. The alliance targets an increase in animal‑feed output from 130,000 to 160,000 tons by 2027, supporting sustainable livestock farming and regional decarbonisation. The project, pending competition‑authority approval, is positioned as a response to the needs of farmers in southeastern France and a boost to local agricultural competitiveness.
