French AI tools broaden use for students, freelancers and entrepreneurs

In France, the adoption of generative artificial intelligence is moving beyond large tech firms to ordinary workplaces and education. A recent survey shows that 10 % of companies with ten or more employees used at least one AI technology in 2024, up from 6 % in 2023. About 30.9 % of French workers hold jobs that could be partly automated by generative AI, and usage is especially high among young people – an Ifop‑Talan barometer predicts 85 % of 18‑24‑year‑olds will be using AI tools by 2025.

The tools are promoted as aids rather than replacements, helping users plan tasks, summarise documents, generate study cards, organise research and draft outlines for reports. They are also being integrated into creative platforms. Genially, a French presentation‑building service, launched an “AI Builder” that creates whole slide decks, infographics and interactive quizzes from a single prompt, automatically adding interactivity and micro‑learning elements. Early tests show the generated content is ready for minor graphic and textual tweaks, demonstrating a new level of AI‑driven interactivity in French e‑learning and business communication.
