French Alps prepare for 2026-2027 ski season

The 2026-2027 ski season in the French Alps is beginning to take shape, with various resorts announcing opening dates and event schedules. In Savoie, stations such as Orelle, Val Thorens, and Tignes are expected to begin operations or pre-openings as early as November 21, 2026. The season for higher-altitude domains is projected to extend into early May.

Courchevel has unveiled a diverse winter program featuring the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup on December 22, 2026. The resort will officially launch its festivities on December 4, 2026, with a ‘Courchevel 80’ themed event celebrating the 1980s. Other scheduled highlights include a Pyrotechnic Art Festival.
