French athletes compete at 2026 World Championships

At the 2026 World Championships, French athletes competed in both equestrian eventing and rhythmic gymnastics.

In equestrian eventing, the French team was unable to compete for team honors after the horse Diabolo Menthe failed the veterinary inspection. Consequently, individual riders Alexis Goury, Astier Nicolas, and Gaspard Maksud competed for individual rankings. Alexis Goury delivered a clear round with Je’vall, earning 34.9 points. Goury expressed pride in his horse's performance and his personal progress despite the team's disappointment.

In rhythmic gymnastics, the French ensemble, including Shana Loxton-Vernaton, finished 8th in the general competition held in Frankfurt, Germany, with a total of 52.100 points. The team narrowly missed the finals after finishing 11th in the ball apparatus and 9th in the hoops and clubs sequence, leaving them as the first reserves.
