French athletes win bronze medals at European Athletics Championships

French athletes secured two bronze medals at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

Marie-Julie Bonnin won bronze in the pole vault after clearing 4.70 m on her second attempt. Despite a delayed start to her competition, Bonnin finished behind Switzerland’s Angelica Moser and Finland’s Wilma Heltela. This marks her third international medal and provides France with its sixth medal of the championships.

In the women’s 100m hurdles, Laëticia Bapté earned a bronze medal with a time of 12.73 seconds. The race was highly competitive, with the top four athletes separated by a photo finish. Nadine Visser of the Netherlands took gold, while Pia Skrzyszowska of Poland secured silver. This is Bapté’s first international medal.
