French authorities arrest suspects in series of burglaries and drug raids

Law enforcement agencies in France have conducted significant operations targeting organized crime. In eastern Lyon, a joint effort between the police and gendarmerie, involving elite units such as the Raid and GIGN, led to the arrest of two suspects linked to a series of burglaries occurring between November 2025 and April 2026. Authorities seized approximately 25,000 euros worth of stolen goods. The suspects, both in their 40s, face charges related to roughly twenty burglaries.

In southwestern France, separate operations targeted drug trafficking. In Bayonne, following a multi-week investigation, police raided a villa suspected of being used for storing and packaging narcotics. The raid resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of 3.3 kg of cocaine, 5.1 kg of cannabis, 17,140 euros in cash, and various weapons and electronic equipment. In Brive, another operation led to the seizure of 2 kg of cannabis and cocaine, along with ammunition and tasers, resulting in three arrests and a prison sentence for a primary suspect.
