French authorities close restaurants over severe hygiene violations
Authorities in France have ordered the immediate administrative closure of two restaurants following inspections that revealed severe hygiene violations and public health risks.
In Ollioules, the Var prefecture closed the Mister Chicken fast-food establishment due to critical sanitary conditions. Inspectors from the Direction départementale de la Protection des populations (DDPP) reported widespread filth affecting premises and equipment, non-compliant staff attire, and the presence of expired or moldy food products. The inspection also noted a total lack of traceability for many items and a failure to maintain the cold chain.
In Besançon, the prefecture of Doubs ordered the emergency closure of a Buffalo Grill in Châteaufarine. A control by the DDETSPP revealed a massive presence of cockroaches in the kitchens, dining area, and refrigerators. Officials also cited soiled utensils, dirty equipment, and surfaces that were difficult to disinfect, creating a significant risk of pathogen contamination for consumers.
