French aviation sector sees infrastructure investment and traffic shifts
VINCI Airports has announced a 20-year concession to manage the Rennes and Dinard airports in Brittany, starting January 1, 2027. The group, in partnership with the Ille-et-Vilaine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and SEALAR, plans to invest approximately 30 million euros within the first five years. The development project aims to modernize terminal facilities, reorganize parking, create a new bus station, and install a photovoltaic plant to enhance the airports' economic and energy roles.
Separately, Groupe ADP, the operator of Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports, expects a decline in passenger traffic for 2026. This marks the first projected decrease since 2020, driven by rising kerosene costs linked to conflicts in the Middle East. The increased fuel prices have forced airlines to raise ticket fares, impacting demand. Despite the expected dip in traffic, Groupe ADP maintains its financial outlook, projecting an EBITDA within the lower end of its previously stated range.
