Lapierre seeks judicial reorganisation to safeguard jobs after Accell Group collapse

French bicycle maker Cycles Lapierre filed a request on 5 August 2026 with the Dijon commercial court to open a judicial reorganisation (redressement judiciaire). The company, which employs 106 staff and celebrated its 80th anniversary, aims to protect its activity, preserve jobs and find an industrial or financial investor while a court hearing is scheduled for 25 August 2026.

The move follows the bankruptcy of Accell Group, Lapierre’s former parent, which left the brand without the financial backing it had relied on for decades. Lapierre stresses that the filing is not a liquidation; CEO William Perrier said, “We are not filing this to give up, but to give ourselves the means to fight.” The firm intends to continue production, sales and support for its network of more than 800 dealers during the legal process.

Lapierre reported 2025 revenue of €99.1 million and hopes the reorganisation will allow it to retain its historic identity in Dijon and secure a sustainable future for the brand.
