French Blood Donation Drives Mobilize Local Communities

The French Blood Establishment (EFS) is conducting various blood and plasma donation drives across different regions. In Auch, Occitanie, local chefs, restaurateurs, and pastry chefs are participating in an initiative running until October 29 to thank donors and raise awareness. This effort is particularly focused on plasma collection, as the Occitanie region needs an additional 21,000 units by the end of 2026 to meet its annual goal of 55,000 donations. Plasma is critical for producing essential medicines, including albumin and coagulation proteins used to treat chronic illnesses.

In La Réunion, EFS is organizing several collection sites through October 31, 2026, to support patients, including those undergoing cancer treatments. Scheduled locations include Les Avirons, Ste Clotilde, St Paul, St Louis, and Sainte Anne.
