French breweries win top honors at World Beer Awards 2026
French craft breweries achieved significant recognition at the 2026 World Beer Awards.
Cap d'Ona, a brewery based in Céret, was named the ‘World’s Best Rye Beer 2026’ for its Brune au seigle de Cerdagne, a dark rye beer with 7.5% alcohol. This marks the brewery's ninth world title since 2019. In total, the establishment secured 14 awards during the competition, including five ‘Country Winner’ gold medals, three silver, and six bronze medals.
Additionally, the Anosteké brand, produced by Brasserie du Pays Flamand, earned a gold medal for its Anosteké Saison. It was named the best in the ‘world’s best farmhouse/saison beer’ category within the pale beers section. This achievement marks the fifth international gold medal for the brand.
