French business groups rebrand to support SMEs amid economic uncertainty

Business advocacy groups in France are undergoing rebranding efforts to better represent small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In the Rhône region, the former CPME has transitioned to Entrepreneurs du Rhône. President Franck Morize stated the change aims to represent an entrepreneurial mindset rather than just company size, focusing on those who continue to invest and innovate despite economic uncertainties.

Similarly, the Sud PACA region has adopted the name Entrepreneurs Sud. President Alain Gargani noted the change was necessary to create a more embodied identity for their 70,000 members.

Both organizations highlighted significant economic challenges facing local businesses. Leaders reported tightened cash flows, reduced investments, and decreased recruitment due to political and budgetary uncertainties. Specific sectors such as catering and construction have faced difficulties, while the aeronautical and naval industries have shown positive signs. Additionally, leaders emphasized the need to address climate change impacts, such as recent agricultural fires, and the integration of digital tools like artificial intelligence to assist with administrative tasks.
