French carbon‑footprint apps and climate data platform highlighted

A selection of five French and European applications for measuring and reducing personal carbon footprints has been updated for 2026. The tools – Nos Gestes Climat, Carbo (HelloCarbo), We Act For Good (WWF France), Impact CO2 and Greenly – are free or freemium, cover annual calculations across housing, transport, food and goods, and offer features such as real‑time ticket scanning, gamified challenges, quick comparisons and detailed dashboards for advanced users.

Separately, the French weather association Infoclimat has launched a new climate‑data platform that combines historical weather records from Météo‑France with novel forecasting models. Developed with Data For Good, the service runs on five powerful servers and aims to provide precise, objective context for weather events, including for overseas departments, and is funded through member contributions.
