French cities join Movember campaign to raise men's cancer awareness
Cities in France are participating in the international Movember campaign throughout November to promote men's health awareness and early cancer detection.
In Cannes, iconic landmarks including the Town Hall, the Tour de la Castre, and Notre-Dame d’Espérance Church will be illuminated in blue from November 1 to November 10. The city is hosting various events, such as awareness conferences, fitness competitions, and a festival at the maritime terminal to support the Movember-Cannes association.
In Montpellier, the Institut du Cancer de Montpellier (ICM) is mobilizing to break taboos surrounding male health. The institute is focusing on three specific pathologies, including prostate cancer, which accounts for approximately 60,000 new cases annually in France. Medical professionals at the ICM are using the campaign to encourage men to consult healthcare providers at the first sign of unusual symptoms.
