French citizen arrested in Poland for driving stolen Renault

Police in Milicz, Poland, detained a 21‑year‑old French national on 25 June after he was caught driving a Renault Austral that had been stolen in France only hours earlier. Officers on the national road No 15 observed the vehicle matching the description of the stolen car, pursued it, and stopped it at the town’s entrance. The driver was taken into custody and placed in pre‑trial detention for three months.

Investigators charged the suspect with intentional possession of a stolen vehicle, citing the car’s value of about 150 thousand PLN. The recovered Renault was later to be returned to its owner in France. The case remains under prosecution supervision.
