French climbers scale skyscrapers in France and Germany

French urban climbers performed high-profile free solo ascents of skyscrapers in France and Germany on Sunday, September 27.

In La Défense, 64-year-old Alain Robert climbed the 187-meter TotalEnergies Coupole tower. This marked his sixteenth ascent of the building, which he first climbed in 1994. For this specific attempt, Robert climbed barefoot without protection, using only finger straps and magnesium to assist his grip. He completed the climb in approximately fifty minutes and was briefly detained by police before being released.

In Frankfurt, Germany, climber Titouan Leduc scaled the 166-meter Silver Tower. Leduc performed the ascent without protection, navigating the building's smooth concrete, steel, and aluminum surfaces by utilizing narrow fissures. He completed the climb in 37 minutes.
