French companies lead in competency‑based structures and AI governance
PerformanSe will present a study on July 2, 2026 in Paris that surveyed 554 French HR professionals about the adoption of Skills‑Based Organization (SBO) models. The research provides a quantitative snapshot of how far French firms have moved toward competency‑based structures, outlining seven key findings and the challenges organisations face in implementing SBO.
A PwC AI Performance Survey of more than 1,200 senior executives shows that while French firms lag behind in overall AI revenue impact—81 % report no AI‑driven revenue growth—they are ahead in AI governance. Sixty‑two percent of French companies have formal AI frameworks, compared with 44 % globally, and 71 % have strengthened data protection measures. The survey notes that a small 20 % of firms capture 74 % of AI‑related gains worldwide, highlighting a concentration of value.
Both studies suggest that French businesses are positioning robust governance and competency‑focused models as competitive advantages in the evolving digital and organisational landscape.
