French consulates in Algeria report 2025 visa statistics

In 2025, French consulates in Algeria processed a total of 248,684 Schengen visa applications. Out of these, 182,541 visas were granted, while 72,740 requests were denied, resulting in an overall refusal rate of 29.2%.

The Consulate General of France in Algiers recorded the highest absolute number of refusals, with 34,425 rejected applications out of 141,887 processed. This represents a refusal rate of 24.6% for the capital. The high volume of rejections in Algiers is attributed to its administrative importance and large demographic weight, which leads to a higher number of total applications.

When analyzing refusal rates by proportion rather than volume, the Consulate in Oran recorded the highest rate at 38.5%, with 21,473 refusals out of 49,666 applications. The Consulate in Annaba reported a refusal rate of 28.3%, with 16,842 rejections from 57,131 processed files.
