French Court Sends PSG Defender Achraf Hakimi to Trial

The French Court of Appeal in Versailles rejected an appeal lodged by Moroccan international defender Achraf Hakimi, confirming the referral of his case to the regional criminal court of Hauts‑de‑Seine. The proceedings stem from allegations made in February 2023 by a 24‑year‑old woman who accused Hakimi of sexual assault inside his home. Investigations carried out during the preliminary and judicial phases were deemed to contain sufficient evidence to justify the referral, according to the court’s decision.
