French cuisine expands in Manhattan with new restaurant openings
French cuisine is seeing a resurgence in Manhattan, with several new dining establishments scheduled to open next month. The trend highlights a growing preference for the French bistro style, which offers a sense of luxury without the traditional stiffness of fine dining.
Michelin-starred chef Philippe Orrico is preparing for the grand opening of Le Sixth near Washington Square Park. The restaurant aims to provide a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere with elevated bistro fare, including dishes such as Dover sole, roast chicken, and steak frites. Orrico also plans to introduce a French brunch menu featuring items like foie gras crème brûlée and lobster rolls.
Additionally, renowned chef Daniel Boulud is set to open his 25th restaurant, Brasserie Boulud, located across from Lincoln Center, offering a different pace from his previous high-end culinary creations.
