French cultural season features major international exhibitions
The 2026 French cultural season features major international exhibitions and heritage showcases. In London, the British Museum will host the Bayeux Tapestry starting in September 2026. The 70-meter embroidery, which depicts the events leading to the Norman Conquest and the Battle of Hastings in 1066, represents a significant symbolic exchange between France and the United Kingdom.
In Tokyo, the National Art Center will host an exhibition of Renaissance masterpieces from the Louvre starting September 9. The showcase will feature approximately fifty works from the Paris museum, including pieces by Leonardo da Vinci such as ‘La Belle Ferronnière’.
