French Customs relocate to new high-security facility in Senlis
French customs officials from southern Oise have relocated their operations from Nogent-sur-Oise to a new, high-security facility in the Ordener district of Senlis. The 1,500 square meter building is situated near the A1 motorway and the Chamant toll plaza, providing strategic access to major transit routes including the A16 and N2.
The unit, which consists of 36 agents, specializes in combating the trafficking of narcotics and tobacco. During the inauguration, Director General of Customs Florian Colas highlighted the location as a key intervention point. The new site's high-security features were emphasized to protect seized goods from criminal organizations attempting to reclaim them.
Senlis Mayor Pascale Mathiault noted the city's privileged position at the crossroads of Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France, which necessitates robust customs oversight to manage significant traffic flows and combat fraud.
