French Development Agency visits Moldova to bolster emergency management

Experts from the French Development Agency (AFD) conducted a working visit to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) in Moldova from September 28 to 30, 2026. The mission focused on strengthening institutional capacities for crisis prevention and management.

Discussions centered on a new assistance package for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, aimed at modernizing infrastructure, specialized vehicle fleets, communication systems, and intervention capabilities. The visit included a review of the 2023 Peer Review results and recommendations for the national disaster risk management system. As part of the mission, AFD experts visited the regional search and rescue directorate in Chișinău and planned a visit to the integrated emergency dispatch center in Bălți.
