French drama ‘Les Enfants Vont Bien’ set for Brazilian release
The French drama ‘Les Enfants Vont Bien’ (As Crianças estão Bem), written and directed by Nathan Ambrosioni, is scheduled to premiere in Brazilian cinemas on November 19. Starring Camille Cottin and Juliette Armanet, the film explores themes of motherhood, female mental health, and diverse family structures.
The plot follows Jeanne, whose life is disrupted when her sister, Suzanne, arrives unexpectedly with two young children after months of no contact. Following a summer night visit, Suzanne disappears, leaving only a note stating she left of her own volition. This leaves Jeanne to navigate the mystery of her sister's disappearance while assuming responsibility for her two young nephews, Gaspard and Margaux.
Ambrosioni, who previously collaborated with Cottin on ‘Eu e a Minha Família’, noted that the story was inspired by the concept of voluntary disappearance and personal experiences with family. The film, which received two awards at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, is distributed in Brazil by Autoral Filmes.
