French fashion adopts visible lingerie and transparent skirts for summer 2026

A new summer fashion trend in France emphasizes visible lingerie as daytime attire. An analysis by the International Lingerie Salon, using TagWalk data, found that “sous‑vêtements visibles” rose 19% last year. Designers such as Givenchy, The Attico, Alberta Ferretti and Emporio Armani have showcased bras that function as outerwear, while celebrities including Emily Ratajkowski, Tyla and Anya Taylor‑Joy have been spotted wearing them to confront the heat.

At the same time, transparent skirts have moved from runway exclusivity to everyday wardrobes. Brands like Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Dior and Valentino feature sheer tulle, lace or chiffon skirts that range from mini to midi lengths. Fashion icons such as Kate Moss and Tessa Thompson have been photographed in the style, underscoring its acceptance across seasons and occasions.
